A wild-eyed purist and “Make it happen” kind of man, Aaron Straight thrives in the madness. Whether it’s at knifepoint in Santa Fe or shot at in Guatemala or in hyena filled streets of Harrar, Ethiopia, Aaron is committed to transforming the world through storytelling.

Aaron has directed movies around the world featuring characters from Al Gore to Maasai warriors. Whether it’s for the UN, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, or Heifer International, Aaron works to balances art, commerce, education, and social justice to inspire viewers to action.

Previous to filmmaking, Aaron worked in the events and music industry with African music icons Youssou N’Dour and King Sunny Ade, as well as producing hundreds of events around the US from Seattle Center to Carnegie Hall.

Aaron also wrote and directed an arts education program called “Make it happen” using music and art as a vehicle for teaching at-risk youth life and business skills. The project was supported by Stone Gossard, The Mayors Office of Art and Cultural Affairs, Seattle Art Museum, and Arts Corp to name a few.
