Absynthe Minded
Absynthe Minded is a Belgian rock/jazz band. Their songs have a lot more focus than their band name suggests. Even if they mix play a music of thirties jazz, with a touch of funky soul, Balkan beats and Merseyside pop.
The 4th CD, entitled ‘Absynthe Minded’, is to be released on August 18th 2009.
For the recording of this album, Absynthe Minded moved to Paris for about a month. They recorded 12 songs in the legendary “Studio Ferber”, together with producer Jean Lamoot (Noir Désir, Alain Bashung, Salif Keita).
in the beginning…
The debut album “Acquired Taste” (2004) receives great acclaim from the public and critics.
New Day (2005), the follow-up to Acquired Taste was produced by legendary producer Jean-Marie Aerts (TC Matic, Arno, Urban Dance Squad). With the succes of hit-single “My Heroics, Part One” Absynthe Minded start touring Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.(also supporting belgian heroes dEUS on their European tour)
Their 3rd album “There is Nothing” is released in 2007 with Universal.
A compilation exclusively for the French market ‘Introducing’ is released by “Abeille Musique” (2008).
