When I was younger I was so enthralled by how video was pieced together. I wanted so badly to create my own films. For my 14th birthday I got my very own camcorder and with that I began my pursuit. On our summer vacations my sisters and I would spend hours making short films, but I never thought about it going any further than just a hobby.
During my sophomore year of college at Radford University I rediscovered my passion for filmmaking and decided to pursue it as a career. I transferred into the Film & Video Studies program at George Mason University and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in May of 2013.
A huge inspiration in my filmmaking is music, but more specifically lyrics. Music is an art that inspires my art. Songs tell stories, and I want to represent those stories in a visual way. When I am filming a wedding or a marriage proposal, a song that defines that couple is usually my driving force. When I am filming an artist talking about their music or bringing their lyrics to life visually in a music video, I know I'm doing what I was meant to do.
