Andrea is a writer/director from Northern Ireland. She graduated from the National Film & Television School in February 2011 with a portfolio of short film dramas. 'Communion' was nominated for the British Council Award for Best UK Short at LSFF 2012 and was recently featured in a showcase of "outstanding short films by British women directors" as part of the BFI's annual 'Made In Britain' season. Her graduation film 'For Megan' won a Special Mention for Best Student Short at the London Short Film Festival 2012 and is currently on the festival circuit. Her films have screened at BAFTA-qualifying festivals including Edinburgh, London, Encounters, Palm Springs, Dresden, Brest, Kiev, Asiana, Foyle FF and many others, and they have been featured in the British Council's short film scheme and catalogue. Her first short film THE FLYER was nominated for a BAFTA Scotland award; lead actress Aleksandra Kocela won the BAFTA Scotland new talent award for her performance.
Andrea was recently selected for Channel 4's highly competitive Coming Up scheme, and has recently completed the half-hour drama 'Sammy's War'. She also directed one episode of Belfast-based youth drama, 6 Degrees, for BBC NI. Both will be broadcast summer 2013.
