I was born and raised in Boston, Mass. I finished my PhD in Neuroscience from MIT in 2011, and my research on the brain circuitry underlying memory formation was recently published in Science Magazine (bit.ly/HU7adT).

I co-founded the non-profit, Blue Kitabu (bluekitabu.org), an organization designed to empower local community leaders to build sustainable schools in Ghana and Kenya. I sell my photography to raise money for Blue Kitabu.
