Alan Lyddiard Plus
Alan was Artistic Director of Northern Stage in Newcastle, UK from 1992 to 2005. His work has been seen in London, Paris, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Jerusalem, New York and the Philippines, as well as in many other cities across the world.
He is currently working on a number of film and theatre projects.
He works for the The Cyrenians as Artist-in-Residence at Elliott House homeless hostel in Newcastle, UK, where he created two theatre installations, 'Turning On A Sixpence' and ' 100 Faces, 100 Stories' and one short film, 'Virginia House' working alongside the homeless charity, Crisis/Skylight Newcastle and The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture
He is the writer/director of the feature film ‘Going Somewhere’, filming in UK, Spain and the Philippines Islands over the next two years. He recently completed an acting role in the feature film "The Passage" filmed in Texas. His short film ‘Look At Us Senor’, filmed in Philippines has been selected for a number of Film Festivals.
His adaptation of George Orwell's '1984' was first produced for Northern Stage in Newcastle in 2002 and toured throughout Europe in 2003. It has been touring theatres throughout France since 2008 and recently has been seen in UK, USA, Germany, Canada and New Zealand. This October it starts its 3rd Season in Paris.
