Dr. Maizel joined the full-time staff of the Comprehensive Breast Care Center in 2006 as Director of the Risk Assessment Program and High Risk Clinic. He has been caring for women in Baltimore with breast problems for over 25 years since finishing his surgical training at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in 1983. The Risk Assessment program utilizes computerized family history analysis and peronal medical history to fully evaluate a patient's risk for breast cancer. Additional tests and/or participation in the High Risk Clinic may be recommended if appropriate.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1985, Dr. Maizel is a Past President of the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), a current Governor of the ACS, member of the ACS Committee for Professional Liability, and current President of the Maryland State Surgical Association.
