PUF/FSCD Pilot Project Learning Event (May 10, 2011)
Working Together: Piloting a Common Approach of Specialized Services for Eligible Children in Alberta
Alberta Children and Youth Services, Alberta Education, Child and Family Services Authorities (CFSAs), School Authorities and private ECS operators are working together to develop a common, coordinated approach to serving children with severe disabilities who qualify for both Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Specialized Services and Program Unit Funding for Early Childhood Services.
In September 2010, CFSAs and School Authorities began implementing the pilot in five urban and rural areas throughout the province.
This learning event, hosted by The Alberta Centre for Child, Family and Community Research, shared preliminary evaluation findings and lessons learned from the pilot partnerships with interested stakeholders.
The event was designed to be of interest to:
- Front-line service providers working with families of children and youth with severe disabilities
- School Administrators
- Teachers, Early Childhood Practitioners
- FSCD program staff
- Parents and guardians of children with severe disabilities
- Researchers
