7th May 2011
Arts Workshop by Jonny Boatfield, part of the AHA! festival week in Stony Stratford and kindly sponsored by Connolly Accountants.
The workshop was held at York House and attended by many families all eager to add their special touch to the magnificent set of pop -up coach and horses, a Cock and a Bull Hotel, a hovel and stables.
The building buzzed with happy, busy creatives of all ages and abilities, intent on their designing, colouring, cutting, gluing. Chatting and laughing and literally - getting stuck in.
The coach had a projection screen behind it's windows, and children could draw characters which appeared inside the coach, which looked like their artwork was on television. This held endless fascination - although we are not quite sure why the Darleks and Dr Who had borrowed the coach as a time machine...
Glamorous ladies were built to stand in the street, along with cockerels, dancing bears and knaves. It was a place where individuality and humour were encouraged and made for a fabulous day where everyone - including the helpers - had a wonderful time.
