Last year our niece Ana Maria who works at NASA as a Systems Integration Engineer, got us family passes at Kennedy Space Center to watch the Shuttle launch from one of their closest observation sites reserved for the press and VIPs. It was for the most part an overcast morning, and at the time I wasn't too happy with the footage I had just taken. Now a year later however after examining the footage again, it didn't look too bad for some reason, so I decided to edit it in a short film but adding my own personal touch to it, as most shuttle launches can feel as though the same thing every time.
I used the Sony EX1 and the Canon 5DMK2 with a variety of lenses in this project; My in-flight shots were taken with the Canon EF 500mm and a 1.4x extender; keep in mind that we were about 10 miles away from the launch pad.
Hope you all enjoy it!
