Many years ago, Almaz's parents moved from Naryn to Bishkek in search of work. However, life in the city was full of hardships: little Almaz had to work and his education was placed on the back burner, but only for a while. Several years later, the seller of lemonade, collector of empties and barrow boy Almaz re-starts his studying and turns up in another world. Now, life takes on new meaning for Almaz, a sort of recognition of his victory over despair. This is a touching and inspiring story, told without haste, embellishment and sensationalism. This film destroys stereotypes and presents a new hero of our time.
