The word photography derives from the Greek φωτός (phōtos) "light" and γραφή (graphé) "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light".
The OKITO is a machine that takes it one step further. It takes a photograph ("lightdrawing") and translates it into a real and haptic, abstract drawing. Each pixel is analysed, and the RGB-Values are transferred into servo-movement.
The name OKITO relates to the greek word σκίτσο which means "drawing".
