Southwest Pass at the mouth of the Mississippi River. It's where every single ship comes in and out of the busiest waterway on earth. Standing ready to pilot these international ships in and out of the river are the Associated Branch Pilots, better known as Bar Pilots. They are there, at the bottom of the United States, in one of the most remote places in America 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a sneak peak into a series looking into the work, life and history of the oldest pilot organization on the Mississippi river.
