Amber Marsh
Amber made her artistic debut at the age of nine in the puppet ballet 'Petrouska'. She received her B.F.A. from the Cooper Union and interned with Modern Art Foundry in 2003.
From 2005-08, Amber developed a Theater Department for the Latin American Community Art Project (lacapacidad.org) in El Salvador. Amber was also co-founder of the New York-based experimental puppetry collaborative ImaginationExplosion, which held performances at; Theater for the New City; Galapagos Art Space; Zebulon; the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council; and the Poetry Project at St. Marks Church (imaginationexplosion.com).
She has taught puppetry in elementary schools with the Bronx Arts Ensemble, Metropolitan Montessori School, Shanti Foundation for Peace, AUSL, and Beam Camp. She acted in 'PoLAAT/Post-Paradise, Sorry Again' by My Barbarian at the New Museum and played Audrey II in the Hideout Chicago’s production of 'Little Shop of Horrors'. Amber has collaborated with many other artists and groups including The Bruce High Quality Foundation, Jabberwocky Marionettes and Hystopolis Productions. She has also done original works of art for; Links Hall, the Flatiron Arts Building, the Chicago Urban Art Society, and Aloft Loft, among others.
Based out of Chicago, her current projects, which she makes with her partner Lolly Extract (lollyextract.com), include; creature hand puppets and body puppets for the hit musical 'Alien Queen' produced by Scooty and Jojo playing at the Metro Theater; and C-SPAN recreations for “Bailout” a forthcoming documentary produced in conjunction with the Odd Machine production studio (theoddmachine.com).
