Andrea Kleine Plus
Andrea Kleine is a writer and interdisciplinary performance artist. The New York Times has described her work as “invigorating” and “impressive.” The Village Voice has described Kleine as a “master of expression.”
She has received numerous commissions, grants, and awards including five MacDowell Colony fellowships, the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) fellowship award, and a 2010 New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Independent Artist Commission.
Her current performance projects are part of a series about replication. They include KARAOKE REMIX, in which the audience watches a minimal, karaoke show dictated by an iPod; RATIONALITY, a verbatim re-creation of a 1990s cable access philosophy TV show; and WORKTAPE 1999, a re-creation of a 10-year-old rehearsal video via iChat.
She lives in New York City.
