Andrés Denegri Plus
Born in Buenos Aires in 1975, he is an independent film, TV and video director with a marked style of experimentation in both visual and narrative terms, breaking through the boundaries of classical format by producing live audiovisual compositions as well as working in the area of installations. Denegri is graduated from Universidad del Cine, where he now works as professor. He also teaches at the Electronic Arts´ degree program at Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero. Here he created CONTINENTE, a center dedicated to the research and developed of project linked to audiovisual arts. He has gained vast experience in the area of cultural management, and has run shows and publication as well as drawn up program for exhibitions halls specializing in experimental film and video art. His texts have been published in books and magazines about audiovisual arts. Denegri has also participated artist residencies in United States (Wexner Center For the Arts), Canada (Counseil des Arts et des Lettres du Quebec), Colombia (YA TV America) and Serbia (Academic Film Center). His audiovisual work have been featured at numerous exhibitions and festivals, where hi has achieved significant recognitions: Grand Prize of MAMBA and Fundación Telefonica Prize for Arts and New Technologies (Argentia, 2009), Best National Short Film, Mar del Plata International Film Festival (Argentina, 2008), Golden Impakt Award (The Netherlands, 2005), Juan Downey Prize (first prize) at the Bienal de Video y nuevos Medios de Santiago (Chile, 2007), First Prize at 25FPS Internacionalni Festival Eksperimentalnog Filme I Videa (Croatia, 2005) to mention only a few. Denegri currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
