Angus MacRae is a composer based in London, writing music primarily for film, theatre and dance. He has composed for award winning films, critically acclaimed plays and international advertising campaigns screened around the world.
Born in Guernsey, Angus began playing the piano at the age of 5, and went on to study music at the University of Nottingham, specialising in composition. Since graduating, Angus has worked extensively as a freelance composer, writing for theatre productions at venues including the Finborough Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, Old Red Lion, Pleasance Edinburgh and the National Theatre Studio. He has written original music for international advertising campaigns for Sony and Toyota, along with a number of acclaimed short films, including The Fifth, winner of the Raindance 48 hour film competition.
Current and forthcoming work includes a number of theatre projects across the UK, a new work for dance alongside composer Alex Baranowski, and music for The Listener, a short romantic thriller set in an Orwellian world of dirty politics, starring Amit Shah, Guy Henry and Dame Harriet Walter. Angus is also working on his debut EP of original music, due for release later in 2014.
