Annaliese Ciel Walker
Annaliese Ciel Walker is a writer, animator and artist, who dabbles in various forms of performance, installation and inventions. Her writing steers towards children’s fantasy, black comedy and science fiction.
Annaliese’s short films have screened in numerous Australian and International film festivals including the Aesthetica Film Festival (UK), the California International Film Festival, the Los Angeles Music Video Film Festival and the Byron Bay International Film Festival.
As an artist, her work often leans towards environmental and existential themes, though more recently she has been exploring, through public art commissions, more experimental and abstract works involving rotoscoping and site-specific public projection.
In 2009, Annaliese developed a roto-scratch system to produce an animated music video for the Australian band Cooperblack involving live-action video hand scratched onto 16mm film negative. The painstaking process produces a unique realism, which is seldom seen in scratch film.
In 2011, Annaliese completed a postgraduate in Screenwriting at the Australian Film, Television & Radio School (AFTRS). Alongside writing a novel, Annaliese is currently working on several animated and live action feature film screenplays alongside shorter works for TV and online webisodes.
