As this episode of WLTV was being shot, I was wandering around the office shooting alternate angles of what was going on. I kept my camera running most of the time so that I could easily sync up this "behind the scenes footage" with the main shot of the show. This video is essentially a timeline I created in Final Cut with all of my shots, minus the in between stuff of me jostling around for a new position. In those in between areas I put the main WLTV shot.

This is really just an assembly and not a refined edit. I'm only putting it up here as an experiment. The cuts are all essentially random depending only on when my camera had settled down enough for a usable shot. Still, it's really quite watchable for the most part.

While shooting I was trying see what kinds of different interesting perspectives I could get that were not the same as the main two-shot. The only shot I really planned was the very beginning wide side shot when Gary yelled out the standard intro to the show. From there I just wandered around and shot what I thought was interesting. I tried high angle, low angle, wide shots, long lens shots, anything I could think of at the time.

To be honest I'm not really happy with my shooting that day. I felt really out of sync with what was going on and I missed a lot of moments that normally I think I would have captured. I'm not sure why this happened but I was well aware of the problem while I was shooting. I think I was just having a bad day.

When I got back and looked at the footage my concerns were confirmed when I realized that just about every shot was crooked. I assure you it was not my intent to use Batman angles throughout. Also, old dopey me didn't start with a fresh tape so I had to do a tape change in the middle. There's a long stretch about a third of the way through without any alternate angles.
