I often photograph people who have been marginalized and who are living on the borders of society. These people are often unable to leave or change the situation they find themselves in and are left without any support or care from family, friends or other social networks.There are others who are still living within 'normal' society, but are slowly being marginalized and pushed away, due to a wide array of personal issues and who face the prospect of losing what little support they may still have in the near future.
For a long time I was working in art and commercial photography. It was not long ago that I decided I want to switch myself into photojournalism. It is the curiosity towards people that drives me into photography and storytelling is the most efficient way to do it.

Agata Pietron is an independent photographer and journalist, currently based in Warsaw, Poland. She graduated from Cultural Studies at University of Warsaw, studied at European Academy of Photography and Academy of Film and Television. Now she works mainly on social projects. Her works has been exhibited in Poland and abroad. One of her works was acquired by Princess Royal Anne collection. She also continues to work successfully as a commercial photographer. Her clients (among others) are: Orange, Unicef, RR Donnelley, Sotis, Lego, Natura, Lyreco, Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom Niepełnosprawnym, Fundacja Synapsis.
