Director/Producer Jon Alpert has won three Primetime Emmy Awards, eleven News & Documentary Emmy Awards and one National Emmy for Sports Programming, as well as three Colombia DuPont Awards, two Overseas Press Club Awards, a Peabody Award and an Oscar nomination. Over the past forty years, Jon Alpert has received international acclaim for his intrepid work in such hot spots as Iraq (during the Gulf War and recently), Nicaragua, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Cuba, the former Soviet Union and the Philippines. More than a hundred of his reports from across the United States and around the world have been widely broadcast on HBO, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, ESPN, Canadian and Japanese major networks. Alpert is the Co-founder and Co-Director of the Downtown Community Television Center (DCTV), a non-profit community media arts center, which is located in a landmark Tribeca firehouse in New York City.
