...to create a new voice in the north Europe: innovative, creative and outstanding. Music without borders. Led by it's founding conductor and music director Kristjan Järvi. Believing that music knows no boundaries, limitations or borders. Not geographically, not between genres. Taking young musicians on a journey through the centuries, through styles through performance practices, to create »generalists«, not specialists. Diving back to the roots of folk music, embracing contemporary and pop music, to emerge with a voice for today.
The Baltic Youth Philharmonic was founded in 2008 and is a joint initiative by the Usedom Music Festival and its Artistic Director Thomas Hummel and Nord Stream AG.
