Our mission is to help raise the next generation of bodyboarders, promoting power, style, bravery, character and skill. We desire to generate a global exposure and fascination with the sport and culture of bodyboarding. By using the latest technology we host a new kind of video adventure competition which documents, showcases, compares and contrasts the next generation of bodyboarders in waves best suited for the sport.
The Bodyboard Expedition (BBX) hosts a new format of competition that uses video as the platform for a peer poll judgment on performance. The company was conceptualized by pro bodyboarder Jacob Reeve and produced by professional filmmaker James Prola in 2006. The bodyboarding community has widely embraced our successful endeavors.
We travel with contestants to specific locations for an extended period of time. This allows each rider to perform to their maximum potential, not bound by unreasonable time limits and bad conditions. In replacement of traditional judges, we send videographers to video every wave and every session. After each trip our postproduction department edits custom segments for each rider. We then post the rider’s profiles and segments online for public viewing and voting. Instead of judges, the decision of performance is now in the public's hands.
