I am a visual artist, writer, poet and educator. Like many in my family, I began a career as an artist that was closely tied to being an educator. Much like my father, my writings covered arts criticism and poetry. Like him, I became a published poet and an art critic. Currently, I create new works that bridge the gap between sculpture and painting. Sometimes very experimental, my themes, ideas and expressions are like memories. They reflect where I was in time, what I experienced. As personal as my expressions are, they are also universal. Speaking to issues of isolation, confusion, loss and the twin side of experience, the dark and the light, my works delve deeply into the psyche. There is a universal to my work that expression a personal insight and a perspective that influences, shapes and defines who we all are.
