The themes of Bethynia films, which she writes and directs, come from everyday life observation, María Desaparecida (Missing Maria, 2007) a short film about the murders and disappearances of hundreds of women in Juaréz City Mexico is an example of this creative process. At the present moment, Bethynia is working on her thesis film Noche sin Luna (Moonless Night) a 15-minute drama set in the 1970s in Mexico City.
