Big Screen Plaza
The Big Screen Plaza is a creative initiative to promote art, culture and entertainment in a public venue. BSP seeks out creative content from non-web based sources in order to bring fresh thoughts and visuals to our audience. Content sources include private collections, galleries, museums, and independent artists.
BSP connects cultural resources locally and internationally by sampling from their vast libraries of creative content. Through our work with schools and film festivals we are able to create collections of work that appeal to niche markets and the general populous. We have a storehouse of over 1000 hours of unique content that is not easily obtainable or available to the general public.
Our work with art organizations and art schools has been instrumental in achieving our main goal of being a new platform for emerging artists in digital and traditional mediums. From creative academia, we have a wide range of animations, films, documentaries and experimental visual art. In addition to the current work being displayed, we are also liberating years of archival work to be seen again at BSP.
Our partnerships with film festivals and art groups provide us with a similar opportunity to present collected work of current and past works that would normally have only a singular moment to be seen. From these and other sources, we are able to connect to a wide range of audiences as well as offer new opportunities to the content creators and the organizations that provide content.
BSP is more than a venue for experiencing art in the public-- it is a connection to many creative outlets. The goal of BSP is to continuously aggregate content to our outdoor LED screen while also establishing a network of portals where content may be viewed. BSP is built upon shared experiences. The plaza’s HD format screen is our primary channel as we reach out to other conduits for broadcast.
