Finca Lilo is our farm in Biolley, Costa Rica. Finca ‘Lilo de Biolley’ was purchased in 2008. The finca is a 60-acre farm with 10 acres of organic, shade-grown coffee. The farm comes complete with rolling pastures, river front property, three waterfalls and four swimming holes. This watershed (river) is some of the freshest water in the world. Fresh air and breezes come off the mountains and display sweeping views of the Talamanca mountain range. The farm is located next to one of the most important biospheres on the planet, and the largest international park in Central America, La Amistad International Park. Finca Lilo donates its coffee to the community, features two cabins for rent, keeps beautiful gardens and pool in order to provide varied opportunities for the locals in the area. Finca Lilo only works with locals and provides employment incentives with the idea of handing over the management of the farm and cabins to the locals in about 3 to 4 years time (2016 or so). The people of the Biolley district are very industrious and kind. They are sincere in improving their lives. We want to bring awareness and help promote the right kind of tourism for the La Amistad International Park and provide more opportunity for the Biolley district to earn an income, and not be forced to give up their way of life in the country in order to find work in the city. Our purpose is to live peaceably on our farm and use the land to provide opportunity to our community.
