I've been working on bringing our API up-to-date over the past couple weeks and I'm happy to announce that the Simple API now has albums, groups, and channels! As an added bonus, you can also get information on activity that happens on Vimeo.

In addition to the new methods in the Simple API, we've added support for oEmbed. oEmbed is an easy way for you to get the embed code for a video, just from it's URL.

The API Documentation has also been cleaned up to make it more consistent, easier to read, and easier to navigate. Check it out at: vimeo.com/api.

Watch out in the coming weeks for updates to the Advanced API and more example code.

Hmm...maybe this is what is breaking the facebook app's profile boxes? (some php error jargon has been strewn around on there starting a couple days ago or so)

how do i share with myspace?
oh and check the video
ohh yeah and also you should add the option to reencode in case the reencoding fails so you dont have to reupload just to reencode

If the encoding fails, you should send an email to help@vimeo.com

I understand ... my thinking is why waste staff time with it when you could build it into the architecture of the re-encoding process ... allowing it to log when something has gone wrong ... database those errors and read them through later ... but all the while allowing the original file to stay in tacked so that if something does goes wrong that file can then be referenced for another attempt at re-encoding ... thus limiting the amount of times it takes to upload ... as well as limiting the need to spend time on individual issues.
