The 2012 Vimeo Awards totally happened last night in New York City! We celebrated the world’s best videos, did some crazy stuff with technology, stared slack-jawed at Reggie Watts and Beardyman, and sang “Happy Birthday” to a dude named Daniel. We’ll give you a full recap of the show soon, but in the meantime we want you to know who took home the hardware. Watch all the winning videos right this instant, and/or aim your eyes below to get intimate with the Grand Prize winner: “Symmetry” by Everynone. Huge CONGRATS to all our winners!

The other exciting news is that the Vimeo Festival kicked off today! It’s a wild weekend of riveting conversations, skill-sharpening workshops, and screenings of our favorite videos. Get all the latest details on the Festival + Awards Internet website, and connect your brain stem to our real-time social networking updates via the Festival + Awards Twitter feed.

That was beautiful. A lovely perspective of the "symmetry" of duality, and the parallels that we so often miss. I hope to one day, say what I see, as eloquently as you have done here.

I loved it / I hated it... I want more / I crave less... Start it again / Bury it forever... Hmm, I cannot help but recall the Law of Conservation of Mass-Energy: the total amount of both mass and energy in the universe is constant; said another way, mass and energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only interconverted. :-)
