Vimeo is growing fast, by the end of this month we'll have 600,000 users with over 1 million videos! Since January we've grown traffic five-fold, and now serve a million videos a day. We need some fresh brains around here to help make the best website in the world even better.
We're looking for superstar web application developers:
- Have you written your own MVC framework (preferably in PHP)?
- Do you enjoy tweaking httpd.conf in your spare time?
- Can you explain EXPLAIN?
- Have you worked with INNODB on tables with millions of rows?
- Can you tell when a machine is swapping?
- Do you have experience with cloud (EC2) or virtualized (Xen) environments?
- Have you changed your legal middle name to "scalable"?
We're looking for superstar Flash developers:
- Do you have OOP experience in a language other than Flash?
- Does the prospect of your SWF being loaded 7 million times a day excite you?
- You have demonstrable design experience?
- Have you built a Flash video player before?
- Have you built Air applications?
We're also looking for year-round community apprentices. We really want apprentices from inside our wonderful community, so if you or anyone you know might be interested, please pass this along. Here are our requirements:
- Be well versed in "internet"
- Know your way around the Vimeo website and community

Your days will consist of:
- Working closely with dalas and Blake on community support and answering help emails

These jobs are located in the

If you think you'd fit in, shoot an email to morlocks@vimeo.com with a link to your Vimeo account (yes you need one), some links to some work you're proud of and a short description about yourself.
We look forward to hearing from you!

"I wouldn't live there if you paid me. I wouldn't live there lord no sirree! I wouldn't do the things the way those people do. I wouldn't live there if you paid me to".
* Do you enjoy tweaking httpd.conf in your spare time? -- More like web.xml to me.
* Can you explain EXPLAIN? -- No.
* Have you worked with INNODB on tables with millions of rows? -- No.
* Can you tell when a machine is swapping? -- It sounds funny. From an application? No.
* Do you have experience with cloud (EC2) or virtualized (Xen) environments? -- No.
* Have you changed your legal middle name to "scalable"? -- Heck, no.
Oh well, it is too far from California anyway.
You're an awesome group of people and I love you.
What I hear is that my movies seam to be at a safe place.
Continue with that virtualization so you can have happy technician, that actual have weekends. If it wasn’t so expensive to commute, I would consider applying.

My name is Damien Stepien and I will do something for Free.
I was thinking even handing out flyers around skateparks and highschools. The skateboard community is on another uprise up here and I think Vimeo could benefit from this. All I ask is to have STAFF next to MelonManMedia.
We would be helping each other out.
Please get back to me.

Wasn't that Barak Obama's job when he started?
Nice choice.
I haven't changed my middle name to scalable yet. People I know well have called me VMross in the past because I love Virtualization technology so much. Whats there not to like about it :)
I love to work with you as an intern or staff. I have a degree on film and video, I am also good with internet, but programming languages I am getting weaker everyday because I haven’t used them for a long time.
The only problem is I will be back to Chicago at the end of September. If you can arrange a house to share with roommate in New York sharing payment, I will say yes.
Be well versed in "internet" - YES
Know your way around the Vimeo website and community - I WANT
Be creative - I WANT
Like to watch and make videos - YES

Ohhhh yes. Give me a job as an intern, as long as you have a sofa somewhere I can sleep on - and a plane ticket I can borrow...
