This song was the first video I made for our new pastor, it's a great song. I had my mom drive me around though, so it may have been a little safer. lol

About Shining Armor Productions
In the summer of 1999 I created a video from our mission trip to Illinois on Corel Lumiere. The computer was set up on the floor in my parent's bedroom and it was hot as I sat there and tried my hand at digital editing. Looking back, that video is nothing I'd be proud of today, but it was where it all began.
Flash forward a couple years, to 2001: in a small church with stained glass windows, I'm standing behind the last pew waiting for the bride to come down the aisle. As the congregation stands in honor for the lady who will change her name that day, I stand nervous by my tripod, thoughts racing through my mind - Keep it steady. Don't move to fast. Make sure the zoom doesn't slip. I hope that woman doesn't stand up in front of me again. Ugh, she did. I'll have to use daddy's camera for that part. I hope no one gets in his way. As I stood there filming my first wedding video, I don't think I realized where the road of video editing would lead me. But here I am.
As far back as ??? and our Wang PC with internal speakers and (truly) floppy disc shareware games, I remember enjoying time spent on a computer. And I still do, for most of the hours put in on any given video project is done in Adobe Premeire CS3. I enjoy the freedom that encompases creating something from raw footage and the sense of accomplishment when I can export the finished product and title it videoprojectFINAL.avi I cherish the fact that when I'm editing video, more than anything, I feel like I'm doing what God has created me to do.
During the summers of 2007 and 2008 I was blessed to serve the Lord through video by working as Video Producer (known in the camp world as VP) for Lifeway/Fuge's Centri-Kid Camps. It was a thrill to walk into the VP training room in Nashville and see rows and rows of iMacs with all the editing assesories. One of these was mine for ten weeks as we traveled across the Southern US pointing kids to Jesus through Bible study, recreation, and track times. My job in all this was to capture the hand of God at work in the lives of these kids and project it on the screen for them to see each morning. I learned from and was encouraged by others who were working in video before I was born, yet I was also able to encourage several church leaders, as well as one twelve-year-old, on their own video editing journey. It was the most exciting, stretching, draining, and fulfilling job I've ever done. God taught me so much those two summers: a lot about video editing, a lot about Himself, and a lot about who He's called me to be.
Currently, I'm still seeking God's direction for my life in many ways. But as I try and be content to the here and now, He has opened many doors in the past few months for video editing. Several opportunities I had neither looked for nor expected have presented themselves and I am thoroughly excited for what the future holds - mostly because I know Who holds the future.
What's in a name?
For several years now, I've been interested in the middle ages: my room is decorated with swords and knights and I painted a coat of arms on my wall that I created from symbols from the Bond Crest.
Last fall I was blessed to get on a plane and travel to Scotland. On a tour with Little Bear Wheeler, I experienced Scotland for ten days and was in awe of the castles and rich history. When I was praying and thinking about a new name for my video editing business, several names came to mind, but Shining Armor seemed to stick out. Then I thought of the passage in Ephesians where Paul urges believers to put on the whole armor of God that you might be able to stand firm. It all clicked, and Shining Armor Productions was born. A new name for a continuation of what has already been done and the greater things yet to come.
Shining Armor Productions is proud to use Canon GL2 camcorders, Adobe CS3 Premiere editing suite and Encore DVD authoring software.
