Brad Steinmetz has designed a wide variety of theatrical productions—from musicals to intimate black box works—at professional, semi-professional, and academic theatres. His designs employ unconventional materials, unique scenic movements, and a mix of high and low technology.

Steinmetz’s design work has been influenced by his travels to Cuba, England, and the Czech Republic, as well as by his collaborations with scenographers Jaroslav Malina and Marketa Trosterova-Fantova. His work has also been shaped by his internships at The Royal Court Theatre in London and the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago.
