Originally from New England, Brett Millar has a degree in sociology and has always had a passion for telling stories through imagery. For over a year, he traveled through the South Pacific living and shooting in places like Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea. Brett was a student at Brooks Institute of Photography in the Visual Journalism department from 2006-2008 where he won the First Year Award and created three short documentaries – one of which received praise at the Ventura film Festival in March of 2009. During his time in school he worked for a well-known company, Patagonia, where he wore a number of different hats. As a photographer, he worked in the photo department as an assistant to the Managing Editor. As a videographer, he worked as a freelance shooter and editor with the media team to create various projects including The Footprint Chronicles, an award-winning production. Brett is currently working as a freelance videographer in the San Diego area and his passion for people and the environment is prevalent in all of his work. His day job when he isn't out shooting is as the Commercial Training Manager for SolarCity, the largest solar installation company in the U.S.
