Brian Kent Gotro
Brian Kent Gotro is a digital pixel manipulator. His installations and videotapes activate qualities of the ephemeral, comedic, social and political. Turning the camera on himself and his surroundings, Gotro engages in critique and examination. His work has exhibited nationally and internationally: Hong Kong, Russia, Norway, Berlin, New York, Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Kelowna and Vancouver.
Since completion of his B.F.A. Gotro has worked extensively within the arts community: most recently as Lead Digitizer for Activating the Archives, a major undertaking by grunt gallery (Vancouver) to digitize the content of their 27-year history; as Head Studio Assistant at Paul Wong Projects (Vancouver) from 2007-2012; and as Media Project Coordinator for the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art (Kelowna).
His video works are distributed by Vtape in Toronto (vtape.org) and Video Out in Vancouver (videoout.ca).
