A native to New York City, filmmaker Brian Lonano has a fondness for B Sci-fi and Horror Movies from the 50s as well as experimental filmmaking and enjoys mixing the two. Critics and colleagues, including Phil Mucci, Michael Langan and Todd Brown, say his expressionist approach, use of retro special effects and propaganda bring to mind the schlock style of Ed Wood (in a good way), 1984 and War of the Worlds.

Brian has developed a reputation over four years as an up and coming talent in the world of genre and underground filmmaking. His films and music videos have won awards and nominations from both domestic and international film festivals, including an Honorable Mention from Lazlo Kovacs. His works have been official selections at the Cannes Short Film Corner, USA Film Festival (Academy recognized), and Hollywood Film Festival, among others.

Passionate about storytelling and creating distinctly visual films, Brian continually studies and learns from new and old visual styles to inspire his work. He is tenacious and insatiable in building a career that allows him to direct twisted, unique and funny pieces that reflect his outlook, with the goal of showcasing his work to as many people as possible.
