Brian Lucid is a designer, educator, and consultant whose personal and professional work spans from traditional communications in static and temporal media to computational design and physical/digital interfaces.

He is an Associate Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston, Massachusetts. He also serves as one of the core faculty members of the Dynamic Media Institute, a graduate program focused upon design research at the intersection of technology and communication.

Brian speaks at national and international conferences dealing with dynamic media, information design, and design education. He co-organized the 2008 AIGA design education conference entitled Massaging Media 2: Graphic Design in the Age of Dynamic Media.

Recent writings appear in The Education of the Graphic Designer, 2nd Edition (edited by Steven Heller. Published by Allworth Press), Teaching Motion Design (edited by Michael Dooley and Steven Heller. Published by Allworth Press) and The Language of Dynamic Media (edited by Jan Kubasiewicz. Published by the Dynamic Media Institute).

Brian sat on the steering committee for the AIGA Design Educators Community from 2005 – 2007 and previously served on the board of directors of the fourth largest AIGA Chapter in the United States.

Recent clients range from design agencies to cultural organizations to corporations, including The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, The Barbarian Group, Upromise, Adobe Systems, The Education Development Center (EDC), Trinity Communications, and Solidworks.

Brian holds both a B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, Rhode Island.
