Brugge Plus
In 2002, Bruges was the European Capital of Culture. To continue the dynamics of this cultural year, the city council has decided to found the non-profit organization Brugge Plus.
Brugge Plus organizes projects in Bruges on the crossroads of culture and tourism. For this purpose, our organization works in cooperation with several cultural and touristic partners.
In 2005, Brugge Plus organized the city festival Corpus ’05. Since 2006, there are several yearly events such as Cirque Plus, Filmonthebeach, the Feast of Light and Brrr…ugge, evocative wintry evenings. In 2008, two single events took place: Wor(l)ds, which was a cycling route along calligraphic stones, and the exhibition The Face of Lace in cooperation with Musea Brugge. In 2010, we organized an international city festival, called Bruges Central.
Furthermore, Brugge Plus also takes the lead in coordinating initiatives in the cultural sector. The city’s cultural communication, known as “UiT in Brugge”, and projects of cultural education like “Vel tegen Vel” are just a few of these realizations.
Brugge Plus also provides cultural and touristic information and the ticket sale for cultural organizations through “In&Uit Brugge” on the ground floor of the Concertgebouw.
