In order to make deep sky images like the Carina nebula here flickr.com/photos/tafreshi/6890928553/ a tracking mount is used for a slightly longer than usual exposure.

12 hours agoBabak Tafreshi commented on Atacama Starry Nights: Episode IThanks Mark. The location is important of course, also using fast prime lenses. One of the cameras we used was astronomically modified, the rest were normal bodies.
