Butler Gallery Exhibitions Programme
The Butler Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the former kitchens of Kilkenny Castle. Funded for the most part by the Arts Council of Ireland, it exhibits cutting edge work by emerging and established Irish and international living artists. It also exhibits and loans work from its collection, the Butler Gallery Collection which was established in 1943 with the founding of the Kilkenny Art Gallery Society.
Butler Gallery Education and Outreach Programme
The Butler Gallery runs a rich and varied Education Programme linked to Exhibitions at the Gallery and the Butler Gallery Collection, aimed at a variety of audiences of diverse age groups, backgrounds and abilities. These include school children and students, families, adults and community groups with activity taking the form of talks, discussions, workshops, residencies, one-off events and special projects devised in collaboration with artists, audience groups and external partners.
