After gaining a degree in Communication Studies, Simone Herbert (Simbert) started her career in television post-production as a Runner at the award-winning Suite TV in London's Soho.
Her hard work, steely determination and friendly disposition enabled her to quickly move up the ranks, (and leave the tea-making behind), to become a Tape Op/ Assistant Editor, working in what is regarded as the hub of any post-production facility, the CAR (aka the Machine Room).
It was in this role that the majority of her technical knowlegde was gained, and she was able to stand her ground amongst her male counterparts when it came to rigging decks, performing aspect-ratio conversions, tape-to tape dubs, playouts, and digitisng in every resolution known to man.
In her 'spare' time, Simone undertook many editing assignments including music videos, short films and braving the mud at V Festival for the Channel 4 show, proving herself worthy of the title 'Junior Editor'.
Now, as a Freelance Editor, Simone works with a number of core clients on a varied range of projects from fast-paced music videos to drama narrative to advertising promos.
