Callan was born in Wellington, New Zealand. At the age of 6 he was given a happy snap 35mm stills camera for being a good boy. From this moment on, there was no stopping him.

After seven years in the camera department, including a two and a half year stint on "The Lord Of the Rings" Trilogy, Callan decided to further his dream, so he packed his bags and headed for the big smoke.

In 2004 he graduated from the "Australian Film Television and Radio School" with a Masters Degree in Cinematography.

Since then his work has screened all over the world including Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, London, Tokyo, Tribecca, and Camerimage film festivals.

He has clocked up over 15 years of cinematography experience, and has won GOLD for 7 consecutive years at the NSW Cinematography Awards, along with 4 National ACS Golden Tripods (Music Videos - 2006 & 2012 and Commercials - 2010 & 2011.)

Callan loves to shoot, and whether it’s commercials, music videos or drama, he is 100% devoted to his passion as a visual storyteller.
