Over the years we’ve worn many hats: restaurateur, bartender, partner, apprentice, art student, waiter (strangely enough, straight after art school), small business owner, designer, trainee, parent. We’ve worked with beer, bikes, art, guns, fish, hair, cheese and children. And yet through it all one thing has remained the same: we are anglers.
Camden was born in our backyards. From many lousy fishing days returning home with empty bags and tangled lines, to the ones that live forever in our memories: a tricky catch, a rare beauty or the ever-elusive “one that got away”.
From attempts to coax the young angler in the family with trips to “The Learning Ground”, to days where 20 years of experience couldn’t tell you where the fish are.
From hours of silent contemplation in a favourite secret spot, to the never-ending tales of fish shared over a beer with friends.
From the stillness of the perfect spring evening, to long, wet winters thumbing through well-worn guides in a bid to feel closer to the water.
Camden is born from time spent with good people, our love for the catch and most of all, a wish that the season would never end.
Thank you for visiting Camden. Our aim is to create a space to share our love for angling, the things we’ve learned and are yet to learn, and to showcase the light, location and beauty of our Tasmanian home. It’s a place to be for whatever reason, when the water is just too far away.
