Camille Herren grew up in a small town in Switzerland where he began his career as a local filmmaker. Developing his craft, he started doing corporate films, commercials and short films. Determined to move forward, he attended NYU SCPS film school in New York and later PCFE in Prague where he won an award for Best Cinematography.
Things started to take off when Camille was selected to join Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam's inaugural class of “The Kennedys” - where he got a taste of advertising on a global scale. As part of the creative team he worked on various projects for brands such as Nike. Soon after, he went on to direct his first international spot for Sony Playstation. His film "Hooded" for Amnesty International's “Security with Human Rights” campaign won him 2nd prize at the Young Director Awards in Cannes 2013.
Cam likes to explore the arcane side of human characters with a strong sensibility for visual storytelling. In his work he creates worlds that are both intimate and brutally honest. He is currently based in Amsterdam.
