Born in Lisbon in 1974, Pedro Canavilhas is a Portuguese Filmmaker. He started his career at the age of 19 working as an assistant director and assistant producer freelancer @ RTP in 1994. From 1994 to 1998 he worked at Astrolábio - a TV Production House working for many Portuguese television broadcasters (RTP, SIC, TVI and others).
In 1998 he founded B’lizzard, working as Managing Director and Producer - all scopes of motion graphics, 2D & 3D, TV Commercials, Corporate Video, Documentaries, TV Programs and Creative Skills.
Lately he directed the documentary “Gil” about the Portuguese painter Gil Amourous and produced the documentaries “Orlando Ribeiro – Itinerâncias de um Geógrafo”, a film about one of the most important Portuguese geographers of the XX century, and “Dona Tututa”, a film about a Cape Verdean nonagenarian pianist.
He's now working on his next film about the pioneer photographer Carlos Relvas (1838-1894).
Finishing a degree in Cinema @ Lusófona University.
