Cara Mumford
"December 6" is Métis filmmaker Cara Mumford's third independent short film and her first film funded by the Canada Council for the Arts. Cara regards film as visual poetry and strives to provide empowerment for her viewers by shifting their perceptions of specific topics and events. Her previous film, "echoes", was an attempt to contextualize the post 9/11 world by exploring the echoes of past atrocities. It won Best Underground Film at the chashama Film Festival in New York City.
