Graduated Master in Arts and Media at the Griffith University, Australia, Carlos Portella is a surfer since his childhood and became filmmaker in 2007. Since then, he has produced short surf clips to the internet as well as documentaries to the Brazilian government and tv stations. His most important work was as director of Descobrindo a Barra Sul, a series of documentary broadcast by the biggest tv station in Brazil, Rede Globo.
Carlos also writes articles to websites and magazines, including Waves.com.br, camerasurf.com.br, Hardcore magazine, espiritosurfe.com.br, Jornal Drop, his own website umasviagens.com, amongst others.
Since 2010 he has been travelling around the world producing the independent project Working For Barrels. Bundjalung is the first documentary of this project.
