CAT Cologne steht für ‘Community Art Cologne’ und versteht sich als gemeinnützige Einrichtung mit dem Ziel, KünstlerInnen zu fördern und zugleich das lokale Umfeld in den kreativen Prozess einzubinden. Im Rahmen der Künstlerresidenz soll jungen internationalen Künstlern die Möglichkeit geboten werden, während eines Arbeitsstipendiums ein Projekt zu realisieren und auszustellen. Dieses Projekt soll insbesondere Jugendliche aktiv oder indirekt miteinbeziehen und somit den künstlerischen Ansatz einer Community Art unterstützen. Durch den künstlerischen und internationalen Austausch soll auch der Standort Köln als Kulturstadt gestärkt werden.

CAT Cologne means ‘Community Art Cologne’ and is a non-for-profit organisation with the mission to advance emerging artists and to incorporate the local environment in the creative process. In the context of the artist residency, young international artists have the opportunity to realize and exhibit an artistic project during a working grant. The project shall especially involve young people in an active or an indirect way and thus further the conceptual approach of community art. By means of an artistic and international exchange, the status of Cologne as a cultural center shall also be affirmed.
