I make very short films! I'm interested in how we represent nature on film - is it possible to create films that convey a more ecocentric, empathic world view, re-examining how we connect and experience what's around us near at hand and further away.
My films may reference scientific facts and ideas about environmental politics but I'm interested in the lyrical, poetic opportunities provided by cinema (image and sound) to give space to looking at the natural world afresh in its complexity, interconnectedness and dynamism.
I have centred my work on the small forest in the making on my doorstep; my films develop from an art & ecology SLOW ART project taking place in our small 2 acre woodland detailing how one can turn our small monoculture conifer plantation into an ecologically & economically sustainable real FOREST.
