Jay Cavallaro is originally from Manhattan and Westchester County, New York. He studied at the New School in Manhattan and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Bennington College. He has owned and operated his boutique film & video production company, Jumpcut Productions & later Cavallaro Films, for the past sixteen years. As director, photographer and cinematographer he has worked for a broad range of commercial, corporate and network clients including the BBC, the History Channel, E!TV, ESPN, PBS, Lifetime Television, General Motors, Energizer, Warner Bros., J.P. Morgan and the Orvis Co.
Serving private & commercial photography & video clients nationally and internationally, Jay’s attention to detail and ability to capture the subtle beauty of natural light allow him to create unique and memorable images for his clients. He discreetly and creatively preserves the elegance, beauty and candid moments of your event with a photojournalistic eye. His work has been published in House Beautiful, Ski Magazine, Vermont Life and Vermont Magazine. He has created images and films for Norman Lear, Jack Dejohnette, and Omar Sosa.
