The Clackamas County Government Channel is filled with documentaries, meetings, workshops, public service announcements, and original, County-produced programming. The channel is carried by most cable systems in the county. It has produced over 1,800 programs and won numerous national and international television production awards. CCGC went on the air in 1996, available to approximately 20,000 subscribers only four hours per day. Today, through the use of County facilities and franchise negotiations, the channel operates 24/7, available to 99% (approximately 32,000) of the cable subscribers in unincorporated Clackamas County. Cable subscribers in 16 incorporated cities receive the county channel. The weekly Board of County Commissioners meeting is carried to over 200,000 homes in Clackamas County and the surrounding metropolitan area.
